Crab Footed Miniature Steam Locamotive Moves Around In This Video

This video features a pretty bizarre vehicle. It is a miniature steam locamotive except that instead of wheels and a track it runs on crab legs. There looks to be maybe 50 or so crab looking feet that moves the miniature engine around.

Video Demo Of The Havok Physics Engine Using Various Materials

This demo video from some video game show demonstrates the Havok physics engine with a bunch of different materials. They throw objects through various materials (wood, glass, jelly, metal) and they break up, dent, or bounce back like they would in the real world (no pre-animation).

Guy With Rockets On His Feet Jumps Off Hot Air Balloon

Guy puts on a skydiving wing suit, straps a jet engine to each of his feet, and jumps off of a hot air balloon for a good time in this video.  It doesn't look like it would be very easy to land with the jet engines on his feet but I assume he just pops a parachute.

Dolphin Shaped Jetski Watercraft Can Leap 10 Feet Out Of The Water

Dolphin Jetski VideoHere's a jetski like watercraft which is complete covered and shaped like a dolphin. It can only submerge up to two feet but it can do rolls and dives within that two feet. Additionally they claim it can jump up to 10 feet out of the water and is powered by a car size 300 hp engine. The cockpit glass of the watercraft is from an F-18 and is about half an inch think which lets it withstand it hitting the water. In the photo on the main site for the watercraft it looks to have two seats in it but in the video it seems like it only has one seat.

Swiss Guy Flies Over 120 Miles An Hour With His Jet Wing In This Video

Jetman VideoHere's a Swiss guy named Yves Rossy who has developed a personal wing which he uses to fly around after jumping out of airplanes (see video one). Apparently sky surfing just wasn't cutting it so he built this. His latest version has four mini jet engines on it which allow him to go over 120 miles an hour (see video two). Apparently the wing has cost something like 150k British pounds to put togather. As you can see in the screen capture the wings fold up for when he is inside the plane and then open up when he jumps out. His end goal is to be able to take off and land which the jet wing as well instead of launching off a second plane already in the sky.

Check out the videos below of the Jetman or click over and view them on the host site.

Street Fighter Ryu Verses Duck Hunt Ducks In This Mashup Video

Street Fighter Duck Hunter Mashup VideoHere's a mashup of Street Fighter and Duck Hunter in this video created in Mugen. Apparently Mugen is a build your own Street Fighter clone engine. This guy must have imported the Street Fighter character and moves and put it against the background of duck hunt. It seems like it is actually playable (in that he actually hits the ducks programmably instead of being scripted to the background movie). Mugen has a training mode which this is probably part of. It looks like there are over two hundred different characters you can import and play with in Mugen from a quick web search on the topic.

Fire Sculture Pendulum Jet Engine Thing Swings Around For A Good Time

Fire Pendulum VideoHere is another video from Krazy Kooks In The Desert 2006 er I mean Burningman. There was a similar video from 2005 however in that video the fire jet just hung off a pole on a single rope. They upgraded it a bit since then and this time it is a pendulum with the fire jet swinging around up in the air on a pole. It looks like there are five burners, one up, one towards the camera, and one on either side. It seems like it is RC controlled as they shoot one side burner to swing it one way and then shoot the other side burner to swing it the other way. However the pendulum weight is also giving it some movement. It's basically a jet engine on a pendulum swinging around.

Check out the video of the fire pendulum below or click over and view it on the host site.

Jet Engine Built Into The Back Of A VW Beetle Blows Out Fire And Smoke

Beetle Jet Engine VideoHere is a video clip from a longer video which features a VW Beetle with a jet engine built into the back. In the longer version of the video the guy explains some of the construction and things like the extra fuel nozzle which causes the flames that you see in this video. In this video they have the VW Beetle with it's brakes on and the guy fires up the jet engine for the cameras. It blows out a pretty good gout of flame and smoke but other then that it doesn't do much. In the longer video I think they drive it down a road with the jet engine fired up. Reminds me of the urban legend of the guy that strapped a jet engine to his car and slammed it into a cliff. This guy just hasn't crashed it yet.

Check out the full video of the VW Beetle with a jet engine built into the back below or click over and view it on the host site.

Treadboard Drives Around Like The Hoverboard in Back To The Future II

Scarpar VideoSo here is a video of what seems like a cross between a snow board, a skate board, and a snowmobile and/or tank. There is a tread at the front of the board and a tread at the back of the board (like a snowmobile) except that the board is the size of a snow board. The engine is in the middle with the riders feet in front and back of the engine. The engine seems kind of big (like the size of a lawnmower engine). In any event the video shows this 'Scarpar' driving around on snow, logs, dirt, grass, and all kinds of other terrain. Reminds me of the hoverboards in 'Back to the Future II'. Now all they need to do is combine this thing with the military drone technology for the win.

Oblivion Domino Rube Goldberg Machine Video Game Physics Video

Oblivion Domino VideoHere is a video of someone who setup a domino topple using books and the physics engine in Oblivion. In case you live under a rock Oblivion is a sandboxy video game which came out recently. The books are all in a row like they were dominos and the guy kicks it off by tipping the first one over. It does have some interesting twists thrown into it like swords that tip over and cut through rope knocking over watermelons which fall on more books and continue the effect. It also seems to have Rube Goldbergish machines built into it including a wiffle ball rolling down stairs, people crashing through stacks of barrels, and a mace and chain swinging to bridge some gaps.
