Messed up Energizer commercial video where a guy was in some kind of accident and lost one of his arms. He received an arm implant from�a Japanese guy which has been driving�everyone around him insain ever since. There is basically a camera glued to the guy's implanted arm which he can't stop taking photos with. Using the restroom, sleeping, at birthday parties, in the shower, in the theater, buying a bed, etc. Finally, he ticks some guy off in a theater by flashing the camera in his face over and over. The guy turns around and clocks him in the face. How exactly does this make me want to buy Energizer batteries again?

This site features a number of images of cartoon drawings that are reaching out or interacting with the artists hands in the drawing. The first cartoon has a butcher grabbing the artist's wrist right through the page. The second cartoon has a Japanese ninja woman slicing the artist's pencil into pieces. These are followed by the artist keeping a gorilla at bay with his pen and holding a rabid dog away from him by the collar. The real question is did the artist take photos of his own hands or draw them? If he took photos did he take the photos before or after he drew the cartoons? I'm going to go with the artist took photos of his hand positions beforehand and then drew the cartoons to match.

This video features robots battling it out sumo wrestling style on a table top. The orange robot dominates the field from the beginning with it's running dives and continually stomping feet. None of the other robots even come close to the nimbleness of the orange one. The first match the black robot basically just stands there as the orange robot comes in and keeps knocking it down. In the second match the blue robot does much better than the black one did and there is even a very wrestling like hold that the orange robot puts on the blue robot but it still loses. The last robot in the match is much taller than the orange robot which does give it some trouble but in the end the orange robot still knocks it down again and again.

Here is a Japanese computer animation simulation video of a meteor striking Earth and what it would look like and cause planetwide. The commentary is in Japanese so good luck with that. One thing I did notice is that they used a spherical meteor whereas other such 'Earth being hit by an asteroid' video the asteroid is never round. In the video the meteor strikes and causes a large amount of material to be ejected up into the atmosphere. Some of the things in the video seem a bit suspect like the fact that there isn't much (if any) burn up by the atmosphere on the meteor. The only explanation I came up for this was that the meteor was so big (much larger than 300 miles wide) that the atmosphere wouldn't effect it much. Second it seemed like the whole ejection area hundreds of miles above where the meteor hit was filled up with lava which didn't seem plausable. Is it just a bad particle effect or? Lastly, the buildings left standing (like the Greek pillars) seemed like they should have been blown away and were only left for effect in the video.

Here is a video interview from a tech show in Chicago featuring the Phillip K. Dick android. The voice recognition doesn't seem to be very good on it as when people asks it questions via the microphone it comes out with really off the wall answers. It does have a video camera in the eyes which tags faces though which makes the 'android' move it's head in a somewhat real looking manner. The guy in the video calls it an interactive sculpture. I'd say they would have been better off if they were running something like Eliza as the question answer engine. It seems somewhat more interactive than the�android from the Japanese video a couple days ago.

So here is a video of a demonstration in Japan showing a human like 'android'. The android stays sitting in the chair the whole time so I'll wager they still need to work on that whole walking thing. The actual face looks pretty real but�I noticed they covered up the hands with gloves because they probably made it look fake. The android moves around but you can tell the motions are driven by servos as they are hardly smooth to say the least. The commentary in the video is all in Japanese so good luck with that. Maybe they need to pair up with the company working on that robotic pack mule for the US Army.

Here's an article about Hatsumi who is the last living master of ninjutsu according to the article. Apparently this master ninja at 76 years old is the only living student of the last "fighting ninja" according to the article. Apparently judo is losing out as a sport to golf and tennis in Japan where Japanese now seem to view it as sweaty and smelly. It's a sad day when golfers and tennis players are more popular than ninjas in Japan. Also according to the article the ninjutsu master guy isn't to fond of the current ninja sterotypes. One other thing the article mentioned was nunchucks being in the guy's training chamber. I thought nunchucks were made up as a weapon for Hollywood movies? Myth or fact?

We're one step closer to�a Futurama future! This video has a group of scientists from Hubo Labs working on a robot version of Einstein. I'm not sure what their overall goal with the project is other than maybe creating a robot tour guide or robot grade school history/science lesson. The head of the robot is a human shaped latex head of Einstein while the rest of the robot is your generic Japanese looking robot. The head and face of Einstein has facial expressions and 'talks' (though I assume it is pre-recorded). The head itself looks pretty good but it would have probably looked better had it been on a human sized body and not a three foot tall robot body.
