Live Sound Wave Visualization Using Fire For A Good Time

The guy in this video demonstrates a Rubens Tube. He has a speaker at one end of a piece of PVC pipe that contains holes. He runs propane into the tube and lights it up like a camp stove. The pipes sound through the speaker and the sound waves compress the air in the tube giving the sound wave visualization in the flames.

Researchers Use Sound Waves To Make A Water Drop Dance In This Video

Sound Water Drop VideoIn this video researchers have a drop of water on a flat surface and they blast the drop with sound waves. There isn't any information on how they have the speakers setup or whatever sound wave generator they are using. In any event they play various different music around the drop of water and the water moves to the beat forming peaks and valleys. It starts out with four corners of water and a center and then farther into the video the shapes that the drop of water form into become more and more complex with multiple points forming and dissolving again. The video ends with the water moving out into a line with the points of swaying back and forth.

Check out the full length video of this water drop moving in time to music below or click over and view it on the host site.

Beard Competition In Germany Where A Guy Has A Windmill In His Beard

Windmill Beard PhotoSo apparently once a year in Germany they have a beard competition. One of the most emailed photos on Yahoo right now is of this guy with a windmill built into his beard. He has it combed down the middle with one side of his beard moving off like some waves or hills and the other side curled up into the shape of a windmill. It even has four trimmed pieces of beard spoked out as windmill veins. As far as I can tell they are still part of his beard and have just been trimmed to make the windmill veins.

Check out the full sized photo of the guy with the windmill in his beard plus photos of other people at the beard competition.

Double Jointed Gymnast Does All Kinds Of Crazy Bends And Twists

Double Jointed Gymnast VideoTalk about double jointed. The gymnast in this video is obviously double jointed and is able to do some crazy stuff. For example, she can have her shoulders and chin on the floor and then have her backbone curved backwards over her head so that her legs are sticking forward or be being able to place the flat of her foot on her nose from behind. The routine is a pretty long one with all kinds of crazy stuff including a lot of wave motion (she pretends a wave is moving up and down her body). Is she the real Aeon Flux? What's even more funny is the little kids watching her routine. I think they are freaked out by all the stuff she can do. It looks like she is performing on a cruise ship or something or in a drained swimming pool?

Check out the full video of the double jointed gymnast below or click over and view it on the host site.

Surfer Ninjas Brave Giant Waves At Teahupoo Tahiti In This Video

Surfing Teahupoo Waves VideoThis big wave surfing video was shot at Teahupoo, Tahiti and it features some pretty big waves very close to shore. The video starts out with some pretty big waves with no one surfing them. Watch the water suck up and under the very first wave they show -- it's pretty amazing. The waves seem to be coming right down a corridor and not effecting the camera boat which seems to be stationed right next to where they break. Additionally, the break has a spray effect where the water shoots down the wave tunnel in a huge whiteout spray. The guys have to be towed into the wave on jet skis as well and if you know anything about surfing that means BIG waves. They show a number of guys catching waves, a wipeout, and some whiteouts before panning towards shore where you can see how close to the islands they are. So the real question is, are surfers really ninjas (note the black suits and death defying feats)?

Check out the full video of these huge wave breaks at Teahupoo, Tahiti for yourself below or click over and view it on the host site.

Video Of A Surfer Being Pulled Into Over A Hundred Foot Wave Out In The Ocean

Big Wave VideoIf you've never seen video of a truely big wave this is one to watch. These big waves are way out in the middle of the ocean and in order for surfers to ride them they have to have jet ski's tow them into the wave. The video starts out with a jet ski towing this guy in and you can't really see the size and scope of the wave until the video gets zoomed out a little big. This is a GIANT wave. The guy surfs down the from and through a tunnel which whites out on him. He's still surfing in front of the wave though as the wave collapses behind him in a giant wash of spray. Near the end of the video he is lost to the view of the camera.

Check out this truely gigantic wave in this video for yourself or view it below.

Crazy Ninja Guy Runs Around Scaring Joggers And Attacking Waves For A Good Time

Crazy Ninja VideoI'd have to say the guy in this video is a few cards short of a full deck. He dresses up as a Ninja (w00T!) and runs around scaring people on bike paths. He also goes down to the beach and attacks the waves before stripping off his Ninja uniform. In one of the clips in the video he sneaks up one someone who is down by the water and sits down very near them. When the person figures out here's there the jump up surprised. Most of the people that see him just keep walking (or walk quicker) while some of them scream and jump back. After all they have no idea if he is a mugger or something.

Watch this guy run around and scare joggers in his Ninja suit.

Guy Grabs His Surfboard And Rides A Giant Wave Coming In From A Storm

Surf The Wave VideoHere is a pretty crazy video of what looks like either a tsunami or a hurricane coming over the break water. The video starts out with a wave hitting the shore and flowing down the street and then the camera pans out into the ocean. There is a big wave coming and as the camera is filming a guy starts surfing the barrel on this giant storm wave. The wave breaks over him and it looks like he is toast but a few seconds later he breaks through and is surfing ahead of the wave. How come you can't do that?

Watch this guy surf a giant storm wave for a good time.
