Two guys battle it out using martial arts weapons in the video of this tournament. One guy has what I assume is a Bo (basically a quarterstaff) and the other guy has a three piece staff. The video quality is horrible.

This video is three different zero gravity experiments done on the ISS. The first clip is of how waves behave in a zero gravity sphere of water. The second shows an air bubble inside the sphere and the third shows an antacid tablet activating in a zero gravity water sphere.

The woman in this video sculpts a cake to look like a baby for a cake sculpting competition. The video is a time lapse video where it is sped up to show the cake being created in about three minutes. It looks bizarre.

Here is a video of a "prototype" tractor that was (is?) being developed by a defunct John Deere subsidiary. It looks a lot like some kind of insect with six legs or a lot like that mondo spider video we posted the other day. According to some of the comments with the video they were developing it for use in low impact logging but it really moves very slow. I can't see it being practical moving that slow (though that mondo spider moved pretty fast). Here is a video clip from what seems like a British comedy TV show. They have an actor guy go into malls and pretend to steal something from a story to get a security guard to chase him. Reality stealing? Anyway, the guy only takes the tag that sets off the alarm but he pretends to have stolen a hat that he originally goes into the store with. The security guard predictably chases him. In two out of three times he gets away. However, on his second try he attempts to slip by some people on an escalator and a bystander tackles him to the floor. Owned.

Here is a book that I saw over on Google Books which was published in 1881. It is a futurist prediction of the time between 1881 and 1931. The author makes quite a few good preditions but also is a bit over optimistic is some of his other predictions. For example, some of his predictions which did not come to pass were that by 1931 racism would cease to exist, France and Germany would have peacefully resolved their differences over the Rhineland, and the failure of man to be able to fly. Some of the things which he predicted which did happen were the Panama Canal (he names three places where a canal would probably be built), the death of the telegraph and rise of the telephone, prohibition, the fall of Russia to communism around 1900 (though he predicted it would be peaceful), fax machines, and a bunch of other predictions. It's quite a few pages and I think I got to around 40 pages or so.

Here is a Flash animation which took the artist around three months to complete where a stick figure battles the artist in the Flash interface. The artist draws the stick figure who then gets a life of his own and attempts to escape. The stick figure grabs interface elements and uses drawings to battle the artist while the artist tries to destroy the stick figure by drawing guns and turrets that fire on the stick figure. The artist is even able to tie up the stick figure a few times but he escapes each time. Finally the stick figure liberates clones of himself and really starts taking over. At this point the artist closes the Flash document that the stick figure is living in.

A farmer in Japan who has been growing tomatos for 30 years recently grew this giant mutant tomato which he says looks like a Chinese lion mask. Apparently the mutant tomato is about three times normal size at 10 cm across and weighting 150 grams (or about a third of a pound). So is the farm down wind from one of the nuclear blasts from WWII or possibly getting water from one of their nuclear plants. Next thing you know they will clone this mutant tomato and it will be a delicacy in Japan like square watermelons.
