Photo Of The Glass Walkway Out Over The Grand Canyon

Walkway PhotoSo they finally got the glass looping walkway that goes out over the Grand Canyon built. Apparently it opens to the public on the 28th of this month. It looks like a giant horseshoe that is tacked onto the side of the canyon wall. It is glass in the center so you can look straight down into the canyon. There are two huge beams that the glass stretchs between. Additionally there are high glass walls on edges of the walkway. It isn't a solid piece of glass though and is instead just panels.

Illusionist Floats Between Two Buildings In Las Vegas In This Video

Guy Floats Between A Building VideoIllusionist guy floats between two buildings in Las Vegas in this Video. There is not a continuous camera on him the entire time as they cut between camera views. Before he starts he gives one of the "spectators" his own camera to film it with. One thing I thought was kind of weird is that the comments the people make seem pretty close to the same comments made in the video where this same illusionist walks across a pool. When they show his shadow against a wall while he his doing his trick there isn't any wire shadows that I could see but the video quality is pretty poor.

Build A Do It Yourself LCD Wall Projector In This Video For Around $100

DIY Projector VideoIn this video they show you how to make a wall projector out of an old LCD and one of those overhead projectors. The video shows the guy taking an LCD monitor apart and removing the LCD itself from the case. He then places the LCD on top of the overhead projector projection area and tapes it down on the sides. Additionally he adds one small computer fan to the side to keep it cool (though I'm not sure how much good that tiny fan is doing). The end result is what looks like about a 100 inch screen projection on the wall. The whole setup can probably be completed in under $100.

Check out the DIY wall projector on the cheap in this video below or click over and view it on the host site.

Funny Cleaning Commercial Where Cleaning Is Alluded To Being In Prison

Funny Cleaning Commercial VideoThis commercial is for some cleaning agent and it is pretty funny because it is setup to look like a little girl is talking to her mother in a prison. The girl is on one side of a piece of glass and the mother is on the other side in an orange jump suit. The mother also looks like a crack head (literally) the way she has no makeup on and how her hair is falling into her face. The girl puts her hand up to the glass as if they can't touch each other because of the prison wall. Near the end it pans out and you can see that the mother is actually in a bathtub with a glass door. She's wearing the jumpsuit because she is attempting to clean the grunge out of the bathtub but it is taking forever (like it were a prison). 'Don't spend your life cleaning.' is the text at the end of the ad.

Dummy Looks Like His Head Is Stuck In A Wall As People Walk By And Gawk

Head In Wall VideoThis series of videos is an artist filming people looking at the artist's street art which consists of tape people (people shapes created out of tape). In this specific video one of the tape people is dressed up in clothes and positioned against a wall on a busy street. The trick with this one is that the tape person has no head and is leaned up against the wall as if the guys head was stuck inside the wall. The people walking by either stop and look, get freaked out by it, take a picture of it with their cell phone, or try and talk to the tape dummy guy. The best one is the guy that goes up and shakes the dummy to see if it's real or not. There are three additional videos of other tape dummies at the host site.

Check out this tape dummy head in the wall video below or click over and view it on the host site.

Bill Gates Admits To Infringing Copyrights By Viewing Videos On YouTube

Bill Gates Infringes Copyrights On YouTubeIn a recent Wall Street Journal interview Bill Gates admits to infringing copyrights by viewing 'unauthorized' content on YouTube. The WSJ interviewer drops into RIAA/MPAA propaganda speak and asks Bill if the content was stolen. Bill replies that, no, technically it is copyright infringement. But wait, that's not all, the hypocracy gets even richer. The 'blogger' on ComputerWorld which quotes (technically copyright infringement if you ignore fair use) from the 'paid content' WSJ article complains that the internet is to blame for all of the 'rampant cheating, theft, and stealing'. The comments on his blog take him to task for being such a hypocrite. Here's a hint: If the richest man in the world can fall afoul of overreaching copyright laws they probably need to be scaled back.

Click over and check out the hypocracy of the ComputerWorld 'blogger' and the quote from the WSJ interview with Bill Gates.

Video Interview With The Phillip K Dick Android For A Good Time

Phillip K Dick Android Interview VideoHere is a video interview from a tech show in Chicago featuring the Phillip K. Dick android. The voice recognition doesn't seem to be very good on it as when people asks it questions via the microphone it comes out with really off the wall answers. It does have a video camera in the eyes which tags faces though which makes the 'android' move it's head in a somewhat real looking manner. The guy in the video calls it an interactive sculpture. I'd say they would have been better off if they were running something like Eliza as the question answer engine. It seems somewhat more interactive than the android from the Japanese video a couple days ago.

Ask A Ninja Gets Crazy And Tackles Net Neutrality In This Video

Ask A Ninja Net Neutrality VideoIn this video 'Ask A Ninja' tackles a serious topic (what, ninjas aren't serious business?). Anyway, he compares and contrasts how big ISPs want to double charge web sites for bandwidth to watching a 'Hot-Dog-On-A-Stick' girl make lemonade. He goes on to say that what big ISPs want to do is throw up a wall so you can't see the girl make lemonade anymore and instead force you to watch Robin Williams someone or other make bacon grease (wtf?). Check out SaveTheInternet.com to find out more. The way I see it you can just vote with your dollars. If an ISP gives you crappy service you switch to one that doesn't throw up a wall between you and the content you want.

When Russian Ninja Rappers Attack In This Video

Russian Ninja VideoThis video is in the same theme as the ninja stunt demos that you may have seen before. The guy runs around bouncing off buildings, climbing walls, jumping gaps, doing flips, kicks, sliding down ladders, etc, etc. At one point the guy is traveling through a yard and a German Sheppard chases him though an abandonded car. However, the cameraman is also standing there so they may have known the dog. The whole thing is set to Russian rap music as the guy in the video travels through broken down and tore up post-Soviet Union buildings. There seems to also be a plot to the movie but you'd need to know Russian in order to figure it out.

Robot Roach Climbs Straight Up A Vertical Surface With No Hands

RoboRoach VideoThe robots are flying fast and furious lately with another robot for today which looks like a roach and can climb vertical surfaces. They show the robot climbing up a treetrunk, climbing up a brick wall, climbing up a wood wall, and climbing up a plastic wall or some such. Apparently this is another DARPA funded project (military) and I can think of all kinds of things you could do with it. For example, it could be used for mounting turrets or antenna on cliffs, climbing cliffs, bugging trees with cameras and speakers, and any number of other things where you need to climb a vertical face. Have the mule robot from yesterday siddle up to the cliff and launch these climbers. Six legged robot roach ninjas for the win!

Watch the full video of the ninja robot roach running up the wall for yourself below or click over and view it on the host site.
